This feature is one of the most commonly used, and allows you to publish Meetings, with Committee support and document uploads, plus more…
NOTE: It is necessary for you to add your Meeting Venue to the Venues feature in order for it to be available when adding a Meeting
To get the best display results for your Meetings, please be sure to provide the following information when you add a Meeting:
| Title (Required) | This should be a brief summary title of the Meeting (for example, “Finance Meeting”, “Staffing Meeting”, etc). There is no reuirement to add extra information in the Title, as additional information will be taken from other aspects of this post. The Title also is used to generate the URL for the individual Meeting page that is created, and if the Title is excessively long, the URL will also be the same, which can be less appealing to click on for visitors. |
| Content | The Block Editor content should be used for any additional details that you wish to publish about the Meeting. For example, if the Meeting will be live-streamed, you can include the platforms and links for the stream(s) for the Meeting here, plus any special or unique information, or even a form that will allow residents to register their attenandance, plus anything else you’d like to include. |
| Starts (Required) | You must specify the Start Date and Time of the Meeting |
| Ends | You can specify the End Date/Time of the Meeting. Although it is understood that it is unlikely that a Meeting would span across more than one day, this has been included for the rare occasions where there may be need for this ability to make sure the Meetings feature is as versatile as possible for all situations. This can be disabled in place of automatically using the default meeting period from the Meeting Settings. |
| Venue | This is the location of the Meeting, and should have been specified prior to posting the Meeting in the WP Admin > Venues section |
| Meeting Documents | You can upload all documents pertaining to this Meeting, including Agenda, Minutes (post Meeting), and any aupplementary documents that are referred to as part of the Meetings Agenda (including separate Appendices if you wish) |
| Member Groups (Required) | On the right-hand menu, if you click on “Meeting” at the top of that sidebar, you will see a “Member Groups” section where you MUST specify the Group that this Meeting is for. Committees should be added prior to the WP Admin > Meetings > Committees section if they don’t already exist, and this is the way that Meetings are grouped on the website, so if your website is not displaying your new Meeting, it is likely that it hasn’t been assigned a Committee here. Although not considered a “Committee”, the full Council should also be added as a Committee in order to assign Meetings to it. |
The Layouts allows you to set the look/design of the pages displaying lists & details of your posts, and can be set in WP Admin > Meetings > Settings.
The Default Single Layout is a Sidebar-style page detailing the information about the meeting, including Start Date/Time, Venue, Committee & more. This template also displays a table of all of the attached documents for the Meetings, including links to view and download the documents.
The Default template for Meetings is a relatively simple table-style, grouped by Committee, giving a summary of the Meetings. It provides links to the individual meetings, the date and the Title.
