The Mayoral Engagements feature has been created in order for you to record and display the engagements that the Mayor/Deputy Mayor are invited to and attend.
NOTE: It is necessary to have added your Mayor’s details prior to assigning Mayor Engagements to the Mayor. You can do this by going to the Mayor.
The following information should be set in order to get the best results on your website:
| Title | This should be set to the title of the event/meeting/activity that the Mayor has been invited to. |
| Content | The Block Editor content should be a description of the event/meeting/activity, which can include any type of content you can provide, including images from the event itself. |
| Mayor | You can select the Mayor that was invited to the engagement from the dropdown list. This is why it is necessary for you to have specified your Mayor prior to adding engagments. |
| Date/Time | You should specify the date and time of the engagement |
| Invited By | You should specify the Organisation/Group that invited or hosted the engagement |
| Representative Attendee | This is where you can specify who actually attended the engagement. This will normally be your Mayor, however when the Mayor is unavailable, you can specify another attendee here to record who attended the engagement |
| Venue | This allows you to specify the location of the engagement. This should first be set in the WP Admin > Venues list before you can choose the Venue (if you haven’t already done so previously) |
The Layouts allows you to set the look/design of the pages displaying lists & details of your posts, and can be set in WP Admin > Mayoral Engagements > Settings.
The Default Single Layout is a Sidebar-style page detailing the information about the event, including “Attended by…”, “Date”, “invited by…” and “Location”.
The Default Layout for Mayoral Engagements is a relatively simple table giving a summary of the Mayoral Engagements for the selected Mayor/Mayoral Year. It provides links to the individual engagements, date of the Engagement, and the Title
